Through the wonders of social networking, I came upon a saying that brought some encouragement to my day, "A Journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step," written by an ancient Chinese Philosopher named Lao-tzu.

I hope someone out there finds a little comfort in these words.

Summer says goodbye once again! We hope you had a great one. We said hello to some new experiences and goodbye to some old friends.

In this episode we celebrate the life of the late James Wyatt of Legend Heart Jim has played for many years with just about every major classic Motown, R&B, and Soul act all over the world, including Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, The Drifters, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, The Platters, Fats Domino, and Ray Charles. James, was not only a mesmerizing bassist, and vocalist; he was also a living miracle. When James was young, he lost half of four of his fingers in a work related accident. He literally played the bass with the top halves of his four fingers missing. It is truly beyond belief how he did it, and managed to be so phenomenal. The world of music has lost a rare gem.
This episode will feature the music of Legend Heart as a tribute to Jim's memory.

Also in this episode are some fun surprises, including the highlights of the zany "Fanny Fontana" - "Britica Simpleton" "Fakey, Fakey" tour from Badabang Records, with the crazy characters we all know and love smiley

Fair Fight in the Marketplace: A Must See Documentary
July 18, 2007 02:08 PM PDT

This film is brought to you by the collaborative efforts of: Street Law, Inc, the American Antitrust Institute, Filmmakers Collaborative, and the Constitutional Rights Foundation.

This is a documentary about what antitrust laws are, and what they mean to everyone—consumers, small businesses, entrepreneurs, free enterprise, etc.

It is now airing on PBS—but, if it is not airing in your area, you can watch it here. Before positive changes can happen, we must all be aware of the problem—but most importantly—we must care about the problem, because antitrust affects us all in many different ways, and in many different industries; the recording industry included.

Learning resources are available by visiting www.fairfightfilm.org/learn.html

Long Live True Independent Music!

"...moksa--the desire for freedom--is where we must begin. And because this desire for freedom always arises in relation to an awareness of suffering, our first step toward permanent freedom is to become aware that we suffer and to begin to understand why this is so. For only on the basis of this understanding can we start to face each situation with integrity, to build a strong foundation upon which to understand ourselves and our relationship to others, and to carry on a conscious and intelligent quest toward liberation."
